Parliament to probe Victorian floods

Victoria’s preparation and response to last year’s major floods will be examined through a new parliamentary inquiry.
An upper house motion to establish the inquiry passed unopposed on Wednesday, February 22.
The parliamentary inquiry will have a statewide focus.

Dung beetles return to flood-affected farms

A business in Canberra has donated 20,000 dung beetles to five flood-impacted farmers in northern Victoria.
The beetles can be used to break up cow dung from the ground’s surface and also reduce the number of flies and larvae.
After the floods, there was no more dung beetle activity leaving piles of dung taking up space on properties.

Address in Tongala targeted twice by alleged thieves

Campaspe Police are appealing for information after an address in Miller St, Tongala, was targeted two days in a row.
The person residing at the address reported a break-in during the day on Wednesday, February 15.
Their car keys were stolen and between February 15 and 16, their car was also stolen from the same address.
