Fatal collision east of Rochester

Investigators have been told a car and a motorcycle collided about 6km east of Rochester last Friday.
The yet-to-be identified solo rider died at the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are yet to be established and the investigation is ongoing.

Lovell blasts ‘holiday tax’, fears economic decline for border towns, including Echuca

Liberal Member for Northern Victoria Wendy Lovell has spoken against the new tax on short-stay accommodation.
Ms Lovell said the 7.5 per cent tax would impact the economies of Victorian tourist destinations on the Murray River.
She fears NSW towns on the Murray would benefit from tourists seeking the same experience without the added prices.

Echuca pulls off resounding grand final victory over Kyabram to seal back-to-back

Echuca etched its name into GVL immortality with a resounding victory over Kyabram at Deakin Reserve on Sunday.
The 103 to 67 win suggests a lop-sided affair but that was only half-true. Bombers flew high by 5 points at half-time.
They are the first Murray Bombers side to do the double since 2001-2002.
