Age of criminal responsibility must be raised to 14: First People’s Assembly

The First Peoples’ Assembly of Victoria, has campaigned for the age of criminal responsibility to be lifted to 14.
News reports have suggested the Andrews Government is about to announce it will lift the age from 10 to 12.
The First Peoples' Assembly said it will be a “great disappointment” if the state government only increases it to 12.

Driver in fatal Strathmerton crash faces court

A man has been released on bail following a fatal collision which led to the deaths of five people at Strathmerton.
Christopher Dillon Joannidis, 29, successfully applied for bail in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court on Friday, April 21.
He is charged with five counts of dangerous driving causing death minutes after he was caught by police speeding.

Funds allocated to study dementia rates in rural areas

Researchers will look at why people living in rural/regional areas are more likely to develop dementia
They're seeing what can be done to stop this trend, thanks to a grant from the Dementia Australia Research Foundation.
The foundation is funding 18 projects through its grants program, worth $2.4 million in total.
