Council announces major waste contract D-day

Greater Shepparton City Council says it will make a decision on the waste and recycling contract on Tuesday, April 11.
Councillors voted down a recommendation to award ASX-listed Cleanaway the contract.
This comes after details of Cleanaway being embroiled in environmental offences and industrial disputes came to light.

Shepparton man faces court over 23 marijuana plants growing in his yard

A man who was growing marijuana plants in his backyard and selling it, was put on a community corrections order.
The man pleaded guilty in Shepparton County Court to charges of cultivating narcotic plants and trafficking cannabis.
Cannabis was found planted across his driveway and backyard with bags of it found inside his house.

CVL | Shepparton South sinks Tatura in grand final rematch

Shepparton South topped Tatura in the opening round of the new Bendigo Amateur Soccer League season.
The Ibises defeated South in a penalty shoot-out in last year’s Central Victoria League One decider.
Shepparton South started the year off strong by beating Tatura by 3-1.
