Illegal Goulburn Valley tobacco crop valued at more than $19 million

An allegedly illegal tobacco crop, with a potential value of over $19 million, was discovered at a Bunbartha property.
The Australian Taxation Office seized and destroyed over 11 tonnes of tobacco during a property raid on March 30.
The ATO and police uncovered four separate plots of illicit tobacco on the property, totalling 4.046 hectares in size.

‘Born here, bred here, released here’: Fish released into Goulburn

On Friday, March 31, 2000 golden perch were released into the Goulburn River as part of the Arcadia project.
State Outdoor Recreation Minister toured the Arcadia native fish hatchery on Friday to see the construction progress.
The hatchery received $7 million, then $10 million from the State Government to triple the fish production capacity.

Deniliquin beat Rumbalara again after a rematch of the 2022 Murray Netball League grand final to start the season.
The home side was too strong for a younger, new-look Rumba outfit, claiming a 51-39 victory.
This was an almost identical margin to the 11-goal grand final result six months ago.
