Good Friday bike-athon goes the extra mile for children’s hospital

For 25 years Phil Stevenson has organised the Good Friday ride fundraiser in Shepparton.
For the event, riders meet, go on a bike ride and donate $20 and have in total raised over $80,000 over the years.
Prizes donated by the community are raffled off, and the event is open to anyone who wants to ride.

Small businesses are being offered a chance to reduce carbon footprints through an Environmental Upgrade Agreement.
The agreements assist businesses wanting to fund environmentally friendly upgrades, while saving money.
Greater Shepparton City Council has partnered with Better Building Finance to offer the agreements.

Change your clocks and check your smoke alarms

On Sunday, April 2 at 3am, daylight saving comes to an end so people need to move their clocks back an hour.
The CFA and Fire Rescue Victoria are using this as a timely reminder to quality check household smoke alarms.
The CFA has responded to over 14,000 residential fires in the past 10 years, resulting in 490 casualties.
