Company recommended for local contract was fined $600k for EPA breaches in NSW
- Cleanaway Equipment Services was fined last year more than $600,000 for environmental offences in NSW.
- The company was recommended for a long-term Greater Shepparton contract for a period of seven and a half years.
- They were fined for two water pollution offences and for failing to immediately notify the EPA of a pollution incident

GV Health looking to fill nearly 600 jobs
- Goulburn Valley Health is short 580 staff at a vacancy rate of 21 per cent putting strain on workers across the region
- GV Health had 300 vacancies at the beginning of the pandemic, and that figure has only grown in the past three years.
- This is due to increased capacity of the hospital and staff departing and GV Health being unable to replace them.

Probity issues on waste contracts
- Information on Greater Shepparton City Council’s waste contracts leaked a month before the recommendation to council.
- The News learnt from several sources that local contractor Foott Waste heard it would be unsuccessful in Shepparton.
- The News understands the local contractor then received similar information days before last week’s council meeting.
