Echuca taxi company charged after wheelchair passenger deaths

WorkSafe charged an Echuca taxi company following two separate incidents where two passengers in wheelchairs died.
In both incidents, the passengers died after their wheelchairs tipped backwards while travelling.
It is alleged in both incidents the company failed to provide and maintain a safe system of work.

Regional Victoria’s ‘longest running joke’ is Echuca and Swan Hill train line: Walsh

Nationals leader and Member for Murray Plains Peter Walsh says people will use buses for at least another two weeks.
Mr Walsh says the latest V/Line announcement is allegedly about line ‘upgrades’ for the Echuca and Swan Hill lines.
He has described this as the “longest running joke in regional Victoria”.

Rochester flood victims heartbroken after being refused insurance

Some insurance companies have refused to renew household policies for the Rochester community.
Rochester is home to about 3100 people across about 1500 homes, but many are still displaced.
State Members for Murray Plains Peter Walsh and Northern Victoria Wendy Lovell are advocating to solve this issue.
