Shepparton man drove ‘as dangerous as possible’ in police chase

A man has been jailed after driving unlicensed in a stolen car under the influence of ice and ramming into cars.
Ian Patrick Jackson, 33, of Shepparton was sentenced to three years in jail with a non-parole period of 16 months.
Judge Scott Johns described Jackson’s driving on May 12, 2021, as “simply outrageous”.

Shepparton, Seymour train timetables to be impacted by heat

As temperatures rise this week, train services, including on the Seymour and Shepparton lines will slow.
V/Line said a full extreme heat timetable would be in place on Thursday, February 16 on several train lines.
These restrictions are enforced when temperatures exceed 36°C to reduce the chances of train and track faults.

Japanese encephalitis vaccine now available to all at risk

A JEV vaccine is available to anyone in Greater Shepparton who spends a lot of time outdoors and is at risk of bites.
Japanese encephalitis is caused by a virus transmitted to humans through infected mosquitoes.
Appointments for a vaccination can be made on Greater Shepparton City Council's website.
