‘Very lucky’: How eight people escaped sinking boat on Lake Eildon

A speedboat containing eight people was hit by a large wave and sunk on Lake Eildon on Thursday, February 2.
A large wave hit and filled the boat with water, sinking it and leaving the people in the water.
A man was hospitalised with severe hypothermia, two others were taken in for observation with the rest treated on site

Regional funding, flood recovery at top of Sam Birrell’s agenda as parliament resumes

Federal Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell will advocate for more funding for regional communities and for flood recovery
Mr Birrell said the building better regions fund, had been cut with no replacements.
He will be enquiring about what new funding programs will be replacing programs like this.

Police call for witnesses to alleged Shepparton minibike rider

A man has been charged after he was allegedly seen driving a minibike on Wyndham St, Shepparton, on Saturday at 7pm.
The driver allegedly ran red lights and was involved in near misses with the public on Wyndham St,
Police are calling for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
