Automatic number plate recognition technology will help police target unauthorised drivers this long weekend.
Police across the state will remove drivers and motorcyclists who are unlicensed, suspended and disqualified.
It is estimated that ANPR can scan up to 76 million number plates each year — or 8675 number plates an hour.

Two children flown to hospital after Greens Lake boat fire

Two children have been flown to a Melbourne hospital after a boat fire at Greens Lake on Australia Day.
Emergency services were called to reports of a boat fire on the lake at Greens Lake Rd about 12.25pm.
Paramedics assessed three people at the scene for superficial burns.
