Sarah Peake has been named as the Echuca and District Citizen of the Year for 2023.
Cameron Barnes, 20, won the Young Citizen of the Year award for Echuca and District.
Mr Barnes also won Young Australian of the year for the entire Campaspe Shire.

‘It’s about having fun’: Moama Echuca Touch Football issues invitation for new members

Moama Echuca Touch Football is inviting more people to play the sport when it resumes on Monday, January 30.
An interrupted schedule and the 2022 floods have contributed to lower playing numbers.
Touch football shares similarities with rugby, but in lieu of a tackle, a simple tag will initiate a roll-on.

Southern 80 ready to hit the water

Lead-up to the Southern 80 began on Wednesday with the official launch of this year’s edition of the historic event.
A crowd gathered on the lawns of the Campaspe Shire Council offices to mark the race’s return.
The race is traditionally held in February, but it was pushed back to March 24-26 due to the impacts of flooding.
