There will be golf competitions almost every day over the coming week, as we approach spring and a busy schedule of events.

It starts tomorrow with a fourball best ball stableford, and on Sunday the club will host the 2026 Mixed Foursomes Championship.

With a short break on Monday there will be 9 holes stableford (back 9) on Tuesday and the usual stableford on Wednesday.

Next Thursday and Friday is the annual Double Date tournament, starting with a 2-person ambrose on Thursday then culminating with the Mary Bradshaw Bowl, a stableford event, on Friday.

Next Saturday is stableford, then Sunday will see return of the popular 9 holes, 4-person ambrose off the gold tees.

The club also continues to host the junior golfing programs, which have been an outstanding success and the starting point for many of our up and coming stars.

The latest five week program started on Wednesday – primary aged children from 4pm and high school age from 5pm.

The clinics help participants learn the basics of golf in a fun and safe environment. Program cost is $30 per player, with discounts for multiple participants from the same family. For more information contact Vince Kelly on 0447 109 705.

On course over the past week, last Thursday we had 9 and 18 hole stableford competitions. The 9 hole winner was Esther Bolton with 15 points on countback to runner-up Judy Gatacre; 18 hole winner was Anita Gorsuch with 39 points from runner-up Pauline Davis on 37.

Saturday was versus par with three grades. A-grade winner was Matthew Pussell on +4 from runner-up Jarryd Pearce +3; B-grade Kevin Reeves +3 on countback to runner-up John Penna; and C-grade Denise Hunter +2 from runner-up Annette Danckert -1.

On Sunday we had the Golf NSW 2-person ambrose qualifying rounds. Winners were Travis Beames and Matt Horne with net 28.25, from runners-up John Radeski and Peter O’Brien net 30.5.

Qualifiers for the next round were Travis Beames and Matt Horne in the men’s division and Prue Lloyd and Shandra Simpson in the ladies’ division.

In Tuesday’s 9 hole competition the winner was Vicki Seely with 16 points on countback to runner-up Pauline Davis.

Wednesday’s stableford event was severely impacted by the inclement weather, with only 14 cards recorded. Winner was Troy Grant with 37 points on countback to Fiona Milward.

In the clubhouse, the Flagstick Bistro continues to provide excellent meals at a reasonable price. Winter trading hours are Wednesday to Sunday, with lunch from 11am to 2.30pm and dinner from 5pm to 8.30pm. Function bookings are also welcome, and make sure you check out the new menu.

Don’t forget Friday Night Fun continues tonight. Raffle tickets are on sale from 6pm with draws at 7pm, and happy hour is 6pm to 7pm.
