On the hunt in Lockington

Lockington's Easter egg hunt is back, turning Good Friday into pure family magic.

Kids in Year 6 and under can scramble through three age-group hunts at the Lockington Recreation Reserve at 45 Forrest St, Lockington from 10.30am, with raffles and games adding extra excitement.

For just $10 a child, create some sweet memories while supporting the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

Bendigo Easter Book Fair returns

The much‑loved Bendigo Easter Book Fair is back, offering book lovers more space to browse while raising funds for Bendigo Foodshare.

The four‑day event will be held at MacGillivray Hall at Bendigo TAFE, following a successful move to the venue last year.

This year, an additional room has been added, giving visitors much needed space to explore the extensive range on offer.

The event aims to raise more than $50,000 to support Bendigo Foodshare’s work providing food relief to local families doing it tough.

Each year, the Bendigo Easter Book Fair attracts visitors from across Victoria, with long queues forming on opening morning as keen book lovers line up to secure their next great read.

The Bendigo Easter Book Fair is open Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday and Easter Monday, from 9am each day.

Dementia Ride and Drive returns

Community members are invited to get their engines ready for a good cause as the fourth annual Dementia Ride and Drive takes off on Saturday, April 11.

Participants at the charity day, which welcomes all cars and bikes, will depart from the Memorial Gardens in Kyabram at 11.30am before cruising to the Undera Hotel for a feed.

What started as a small gathering of just 20 cars has grown each year, with the 2025 event packing out the Undera Hotel.

Dementia advocate and event organiser Mick Simpson said the family-friendly event was all about raising awareness for a condition that had a huge impact on people in the region.

“The Goulburn Valley region has the highest ratings for dementia,” Mr Simpson said.

Participants are encouraged to “bring a smile” and a donation of their choice to enter the event and support people living with dementia and their carers.
