Club Corowa Indoor Carpet Bowls

Sunday’s winners on 17 and 16 (33) were Helen Bartel, Gloria McCluskey, and Dawn Sander.

The runners-up on 3 and 17 (20) were the team of Joe Carnivale, Joan Fletcher, and Bev Barron.

On Tuesday afternoon winners on 10 and 17 (27) were Ellen Buckley, Gwen Mills, and Joan Catlin, with the runners-up on 4 and 17 (21) were the team of Bev Barron, Helen Palmer, and Gloria McCluskey.

Thursday’s winners on 17 and 6 (23) were Wendy Dunbar, Sylvia Williamson, Gus SDander, and Gloria McCluskey, with the runners-up on 17 and 4 (21) being Ellen Buckley, Naz Carnivale, Merylyn Milthorpe, and Gwen Mills.

General Meeting and Presentation to Rosemary Baddeley.

Bowls Victoria, Super Veteran badge to John White, Ovens and Murray District representative officiated.

Current Singles Champions, Andrew Hirst and Anne Summerill opened the season.

President Shawn McMahon opened with a "minute silence" for past members and most recent members passed.

Corowa Civic Bowls Club

On Sunday morning Corowa Civic had a practice match against Chiltern on the Civic greens.

It was a great day with the sun being out most of the day.

After the games finished there was a BBQ lunch which was enjoyed by all. A big thank you to Ray and Shane doing the cooking, also to the ladies who provided the salads.

Thank you to Ian and John who looked after the bar.

There will be another practice match at Rutherglen next Saturday. If you are available please add your name to the sheet on the noticeboard in the club house.

On Friday night Civic hosted the vote count and presentation evening of CDBHU, which was a great evening.

Thank you to all the Civic members who helped on the night.

26 players came on Wednesday for the social bowls afternoon.

The weather was rather overcast and cloudy.

Winners on the day were – Col Webb and Ann Sadowski.

Runners Up – Lance Davis, Sue Curtis and Brian Shipcott.

Third – John Dalgleish, Keith Evans and Gary Patterson.

Entries have closed for the Men’s and Ladies Singles, the draw will be released this week. The first round is next Sunday, October 5, or play another day beforehand.

The club desperately need markers for this event, please phone Col Hendren if you can help.

The entry sheet will be put up on the noticeboard later this week for the Mixed Pairs which is set down for Sunday, November 2 for the first round.

On Wednesday afternoon Sue Dawson and Annette Norman played Pam Tobias and Maree Lewis in the Ladies Pairs. After a very tight game Maree and Pam came out winners by one shot.
