Lockington-Bamawm United couldn’t match the might of contender Elmore in round 16 of Heathcote District Netball League.

Travelling to Elmore Recreation Reserve, the Cats while out of finals contention wanted to finish their season strong.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t to be as the Bloods had the run of the day, resulting in a 48-34 victory.

The win keeps Elmore in fourth spot on the table in a competitive finals race, while LBU is one spot above last with two wins on the season.

The Cats will push on to round 17 where they will host North Bendigo before wrapping up their 2025 campaign

Elsewhere, Colbinabbin thrashed the third-placed Demons at White Hills 86 to 37 with the Grasshoppers extending their unbeaten streak to 14.

Finals teams Mt Pleasant and Huntly had an eventful clash at Strauch Reserve with the Mounts coming out on top 64-40 and retaining their spot in second.

North Bendigo remains on the outside looking in on finals despite getting a scalp over cellar-dweller Heathcote 54-28.

Round 17 will be a Saturday full of intrigue as finals loom with a set of interesting games.

LBU will come up against a North Bendigo team striving for finals, while fifth-placed Huntly will bring the fight to Colbo.

L-G will try and get over the top of fourth-placed Elmore and White Hills will be expected to mop the floor with Heathcote, while Mt Pleasant has the bye.
