Deniliquin Golf Club hosted another successful Autumn Classic at the weekend, thanks again to the support of Purtills and Wired.

The 36 hole winners in the men’s division were Shaun Mills and Colin Thompson with an impressive 93 points, from runners-up Geoff Corboy and Duncan McQuie with 87.

Scratch winners were Leigh Chappell and Oscar Marshall.

In the ladies division the 36 hole winners were Marg Radeski and Vicki Brunker with 84 points from runners-up Denise Hunter and Susan Butcher on 80.

Radeski and Brunker also won the scratch event.

Saturday’s 18 hole winners in the men’s division were Corboy and McQuie with 47 from runners-up Mills and Thompson 45, and in the ladies Denise Hunter and Susan Butcher with 44 from runners-up Radeski and Brunker 43.

On Sunday the men’s winners were Mills and Thompson 48 from runners-up Chappell and Marshall 45, and ladies winners were Jen Choice and Jane Armytage 43 from runners-up Prue Chalmers and Anita Gorsuch 41.

A highlight of the weekend was a hole in one to Adrian Mulham on the 11th.

On Thursday there was a 2-person ambrose event, won by Ruth Peacock and Vicki Brunker with nett 60 from runners-up Pauline Davis and Judy Gatacre 65.75.

On Wednesday there were three grades. A-grade winner was Kerran Leetham with an excellent 43 points from runner-up Barry Barlow 36, B-grade Michael Everett 40 from runner-up Tony Tonta 37, and C-grade Jason Jennings 35 on countback to Ken Maher.

Coming up we have a stableford event tomorrow, 9 holes stableford on Tuesday, stableford on Wednesday, 9 and 18 holes stableford on Thursday, then versus par for the Bruce Laing Cup next Saturday.

Junior golfers are reminded of the inaugural 2025 Peter Fraser Junior Golf Classic at Kyabram Parkland on March 30. There are 18 hole and 9 hole events for 18 years and under golfers, with handicap and non-handicap welcome. To enter phone 0499 983 608 or email kypar3@bigpond.net.au.

Friday Night Fun continues tonight with raffle tickets on sale from 6pm and draws at 7pm. Happy hour is 6pm to 7pm.
