A gluttony of Goulburn Valley League representatives impressed in round seven of the VFL.

The AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft is fast approaching (May 28) and the region’s talent-laden footballers are putting their best foot — and boot — forward to clubs.

Kyabram jet Anthony Depasquale produced his best game at VFL level on Saturday as his side Werribee fell to Box Hill by 16 points.

Depasquale shone for the Tigers booting three goals — including his first club and league goal — and collecting 11 touches.

Teammates and fellow Goulburn Valley products Louis Pinnuck (22 disposals, 21 kicks and 12 marks) and Angus Hicks (23 disposals, eight tackles and five clearances) also impressed.

Seymour’s Riley Mason continued his form for Collingwood in a bid for an AFL lifeline as the Magpies defeated Northern Bullants by 75 points.

Mason kicked 4.1 (making it 17.5 for the season), while Mansfield brothers Harry (3.1 and 15 disposals) and Max Mahoney (17 disposals) also performed well in the black and white.

Shepparton product and 2024 North Melbourne draftee Matt Whitlock collected 13 disposals and five marks in a 27-point loss to Brisbane.

Fellow Roo and Girgarre native Brayden George kicked his first goal since returning from a second ACL injury — a crumb and snap in the third term.

Seymour gun Nic Quigg finished with 14 touches and four clearances for Essendon’s VFL side in a 65-point loss to Sydney.

Former AFL player, Euroa gun and ball magnet Will Hayes dominated for Carlton, collecting 31 touches and a goal in an 18-point win over Sandringham.

Recent St Kilda SSP signing and Shepparton 2018 premiership player Harry Boyd kicked one goal and had 10 disposals, 24 hit-outs and three clearances against the Blues.
