Magistrate orders $5000 donation to violence awareness charity after pub glassing

A man has been ordered to donate $5000 to a charity after he glassed another man at a Shepparton nightspot.
The Shepparton man received a diversion on charges of recklessly causing injury and unlawful assault.
The magistrate described it as an "unusual case" given the impressive CV of volunteer work with young people.

Strathy residents concerned about health risks from illegally dumped asbestos

The Strathmerton transfer station, next to Barry and Julie Kochs' home, had an increased volume of trucks in May 2020.
The couple were shocked to later find out that the trucks were dumping asbestos-contaminated material.
A 2023 enquiry resulted in the dismissal of the previous council and the installation of new administrators.

Murchison-Toolamba calls urgent meeting to discuss club’s future
