New pump trial to curb wildlife deaths

Pump-screening equipment, which may prevent the deaths of platypus, turtles and fish, is being trialled.
The trial, run by the North Central Catchment Management Authority is occurring in the Gunbower Creek system.
It has also been welcomed by the Australian Platypus Conservancy.

Advice on Murray Darling Basin plan

An advisory committee has urged governments to explore water-recovery options acceptable to local communities.
The body has urged a ministerial council to consider that water-recovery options should be tailored to suit regions.
The committee directed its comments to the water ministers from each state and Commonwealth.
