Fire restrictions now in place statewide

The Fire Danger Period is now active, as of January 30, across all Victorian CFA Fire Districts.
Fire risk increases as vegetation continues to dry out rapidly following widespread rainfall late last year.
CFA crews have responded to fast-spreading grassfires and a number of illegal burn-offs.

Birrell calls for more regional health funding

Federal Member for Nicholls Sam Birrell has called on the Federal Government to pour more funding into regional health
He has also called on them to address staff shortages outside major centres.
Long-term, Mr Birrell urged the government to back the Goulburn Valley clinical health school.

Racing Heartland roars back to life

Saturday February 4 saw the first high-octane race meeting at Heartland Raceway since April 2022.
Round eight of the Eureka Garages and Sheds Sprintcar Series saw Chris Solomon take out the showpiece event.
The event attracted more than 1000 people.
