Fatal car accident on Hume Fwy near Longwood
- A person has died and another is in critical condition after a single-vehicle crash on the Hume Fwy, Friday afternoon.
- Police believe a vehicle travelling on the freeway near Avenel-Longwood Rd crashed into a tree just after 3pm.
- The driver was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital in a critical condition and the passenger died at the scene.
