State government approves 3.5% rate increase for local councils

The Victorian Government announced local councils are allowed to lift rates by 3.5% for the 2023-24 financial year.
The government announced the rate hike limit after receiving advice from the Essential Services Commission.
It is the maximum amount by which a council can increase general rates and municipal charges.

ERH welcomes new crop of intern doctors

Echuca Regional Health has welcomed its new batch of intern doctors for 2023.
The interns will rotate through the specialist areas during their time at the hospital.
This year, the hospital will be training five new doctors.
