Animal Justice Party MP Georgie Purcell is the youngest woman elected to the Victorian Legislative Council.
With only 1.53 per cent of the first preference vote, Ms Purcell received the most second preference votes.

International Dairy Week off to a hot start

Australia’s largest dairy competition, International Dairy Week got off to a hot start on the weekend.
Entertainment started with a food truck day on Saturday and youth events on Sunday and Monday.
Tatura Park is hosting 736 head of cattle, entered in 928 sections, on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Shepparton business owners brace for more hurt from closure of car park

Several Wyndham St, traders said patronage at their businesses had dropped since roadworks on Welsford St started.
They are bracing for more pain with the temporary closure of the Welsford St car park at the back of their shops.
It is nearly the final straw for some business owners.
