Picola District League and AFL Victoria yet to agree on new affiliation agreement

The football and netball landscape in the region is on the verge of another major shake-up.
It follows reports Picola District League may not be affiliated with governing body AFL Victoria for the 2023 season.
The two organisations are at loggerheads over details in the next affiliation agreement.

Department for Regional Victoria promised

The state Coalition has promised to build a new Department for Regional Victoria if elected to power.
The Latrobe Valley would be home to the new department, which would see up to 200 jobs created.
Liberal Party leader Matt Guy said the department would address inequity between the city and rural and regional areas

Beehag’s search for new date continues after second postponement

The Barrie Beehag 100 has been postponed for the second time, organisers have confirmed.
Originally scheduled for Saturday, November 12, the ski race was pushed back to December 17 due to recent flooding.
The Beehag 100 was last held in 2019, with COVID-19 forcing the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 races.
